1Relationship
You are an independent contractor providing transportation services to riders using the NEXLEFT platform. You are not an employee, agent, or partner of NEXLEFT. You control when, where, and whether you accept trips, subject to these terms and applicable law. NEXLEFT does not set your working hours and does not require minimum trip acceptance.
2Eligibility & onboarding
To drive on the platform you must: be at least 21; hold a valid driver's license and lawful right to work; complete identity verification through NEXPASS, including in-app camera photo capture and government-ID document verification through our certified vendors; and pass a background check and driving-record check performed by an authorized consumer-reporting agency with your consent, subject to FCRA disclosures and adverse-action rights where applicable. Periodic re-checks may be required.
3Vehicle requirements
Your vehicle must meet the age, condition, seating, and documentation standards for the tiers you serve, as published in the driver app, and must hold current registration and required inspections. Premium tiers (for example NEXEXEC, NEXELITE, NEXBLACK) and large-capacity NEXMAX service carry additional vehicle and, where applicable, permit requirements.
4Providing services
When you accept a trip you agree to complete it safely, lawfully, and directly, using the app for navigation status. You must accommodate riders with disabilities in compliance with applicable law, including service animals and reasonably stowable mobility devices at no extra charge. You may not carry unauthorized passengers during trips, solicit riders off-platform, or manipulate location, trips, or incentives.
5Earnings & payouts
Your earnings for each trip are shown in the driver app and paid through our payment processor (Stripe Connect) to your connected payout account. You will receive a clear per-trip breakdown of rider payment, platform fee, and your earnings, plus any applicable tolls and fees passed through to you. The scheduled-ride en-route cancellation fee described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy is paid to you in full, with no platform cut. Payout timing and instant-payout options, where offered, are described in the app.
6California: Prop 22 benefits
For California drivers, NEXLEFT operates a Prop 22 compliance program including: guaranteed minimum earnings measured against engaged time and mileage with quarterly true-up payments where required; a healthcare stipend for qualifying drivers based on average weekly engaged hours, benchmarked to the applicable Covered California average statewide monthly premium; occupational-accident coverage; and rest requirements. Stipend tiers and current amounts are published in the driver app.
7Rest & wellness
Platform rest rules limit continuous engaged driving time and provide protected break windows (the NEXBREAK program), during which you will not receive dispatches. These rules exist for your safety and riders' safety and are enforced by the platform.
8Insurance
NEXLEFT maintains commercial automobile liability coverage applicable during the coverage periods required by law for TNC activity, as summarized in the driver app and certificates on file with regulators. You must maintain your own personal automobile insurance meeting state requirements and disclose your TNC activity to your insurer where required. Coverage applies across the three statutory periods — logged in awaiting a request, en route to a pickup, and during a trip — at or above the limits California law requires.
9Conduct & zero tolerance
NEXLEFT maintains a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy for drivers while providing services or logged in available for dispatch. Riders can report suspected impairment in-app; reports result in immediate suspension pending investigation. Harassment, discrimination, unsafe driving, use of a mobile device in violation of law, and tampering with the app, attestation, or location are prohibited.
10Deactivation & appeals
We may suspend or deactivate platform access for violations of these terms, safety issues, failed re-checks, fraud, or lapsed documentation. Except where safety requires immediate action, you will be told the reason and, where required by law, offered an appeals process.
11Taxes
As an independent contractor you are responsible for your own taxes. You will receive applicable tax documents (for example Form 1099) for your earnings as required by law.
